It involves the provision of four block-booked hospice beds to support end-of-life patient care, particularly those discharged from University Hospital Plymouth.
The procurement method utilized is a limited procedure via the Provider Selection Regime, forgoing the typical Public Contracts Regulations due to its specificity. The contract, effective from 17th November 2025, extends for 12 months with the possibility of two 6-month extensions to address ongoing needs amidst seasonal pressures in Plymouth, with a weekly rate set per occupied bed.
