Why Choose Us

Why Care Providers Across the UK Choose Care Sync Experts

We combine deep regulatory expertise with practical, hands-on consultancy that delivers results. We are not a generic business consultancy—we specialise exclusively in health and social care regulation.

Multi-Regulator Expertise

We combine deep regulatory expertise with practical, hands-on consultancy that delivers results. We are not a generic business consultancy offering CQC registration as a side service. Every member of our team specialises exclusively in health and social care regulation, and our consultancy covers CQC, RQIA, CIW, and Ofsted registration requirements across all regulated service types.

Single Assessment Framework

We understand the CQC single assessment framework, the quality statements that replaced the former Key Lines of Enquiry, and the evidence categories that inspectors use to assess new and existing providers. We understand the RQIA four domains of inspection and the Being Human Framework introduced in November 2025.

1,200+ Providers Supported

Our track record speaks through the outcomes we have delivered. Over 1,200 providers have used our services to navigate registration, pass fit person interviews, develop compliant policy frameworks, write business plans that satisfy both regulators and commissioners, and build professional brands that attract referrals.

End-to-End Support with Comprehensive Documentation

We are also one of the few healthcare consultancies providing assistance with CQC registration alongside branding, website development, tender writing, training matrix development, and ongoing compliance support. Most companies that help with CQC registration offer registration as a standalone service. We provide everything a care provider needs from company formation through to their first CQC inspection and beyond.

CQC Registration Support for Domiciliary Care and Supported Living

From CQC registration through to ongoing compliance management, we provide everything a care provider needs to register, launch, and grow a compliant care business.

CQC Registration SupportBook Consultation

CQC Registration Support

CQC registration is the mandatory first step for any provider delivering regulated activities in England, including personal care, nursing care, and accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse. Our CQC registration consultancy covers every element of the application process from initial service model design through to successful registration confirmation.

Domiciliary care agencies

Domiciliary care agencies

The registration process requires a completed provider application form, a personal care additional information form, a registered manager application, a comprehensive statement of purpose aligned with Schedule 3 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008, a bespoke business plan with financial forecasts, and a complete set of CQC-compliant policies and procedures. For providers supporting people with learning disabilities or autism, an additional LD/Autism form is required. Our consultants prepare every document to the standard CQC assessors expect, and we support your registered manager and nominated individual through the fit person interview process.

Supported living providers

Supported living providers

The registration requirements are similar but the service model documentation must clearly demonstrate the separation between housing and support, the tenancy arrangements you will use, and your understanding of the distinct regulatory considerations that apply when delivering personal care in someone's own tenanted home rather than in a care home setting.

Our consultants have helped providers complete the registration process in as little as 8 weeks when applications are thoroughly prepared.

CQC registration fees start from approximately £2,192 for most provider applications, and the typical timeline from application submission to registration confirmation is 12 to 16 weeks, though this varies depending on application quality and CQC processing capacity.

How to Start a Care Agency in the UK

Full setup support from company formation to CQC registration. We guide you through service model design, business planning, documentation, and launching your domiciliary care or supported living business.

Service Type Decision

The first decision is choosing your service type: domiciliary care (providing personal care in people's own homes), supported living (supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health conditions in their own tenancies), combined care agency (offering both domiciliary care and supported living under one registration), or temporary staffing (supplying care workers to other registered providers).

Register a Limited Company

Once your service model is defined, you register a limited company at Companies House, set up business banking and insurance.

Prepare Your CQC Application

Begin preparing your CQC application. This preparation includes writing your statement of purpose.

Business Plan & Financial Forecasts

Developing a bespoke business plan with realistic financial forecasts based on local authority funding rates in your target area.

Policies, Procedures & Leadership

Creating a comprehensive set of policies and procedures, and identifying your registered manager and nominated individual who will undergo CQC's fit person assessment.

Startup Costs & Setup Packages

The total cost to start a care agency in the UK typically ranges from £3,000 to £15,000 depending on the service type, geographic scope, and the level of professional consultancy support you engage. Our setup packages start from £500 for targeted support on individual elements through to full end-to-end packages covering every aspect of registration, compliance documentation, branding, website development, and 12 months of post-registration support. Contact us on 0333 577 0877 to discuss which package matches your requirements.

Frequently asked questions

A CQC consultant is a specialist who helps health and social care providers register with, and stay compliant with, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) — the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. They guide you through the registration application, prepare the required documents (statement of purpose, policies and procedures, business plan), help your registered manager and nominated individual prepare for their fit-person interviews, and provide ongoing compliance support so you remain inspection-ready.

Start-up costs vary with the size and type of service, but the main outlays typically include:

  • CQC registration fee — from approximately £2,192 for a domiciliary care provider, increasing with the size of your service.
  • Company set-up, insurance (public liability, employer's liability, professional indemnity) and DBS checks for staff.
  • Compliant policies and procedures, a business plan, and care management software.
  • Recruitment, training and initial marketing to win your first clients or contracts.

In practice most providers budget somewhere between £5,000 and £15,000+ to launch, depending on scale. We can give you an accurate, tailored figure during a consultation.

CQC compliance means meeting the standards set out in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, known as the fundamental standards. It covers delivering safe, person-centred care, safeguarding people from abuse and avoidable harm, employing fit and properly trained staff, keeping accurate records, and having strong governance and leadership. A compliant provider can evidence these standards at any time and is prepared for unannounced CQC inspections.

When CQC inspects a service it assesses it against five key questions:

  • Safe — are people protected from abuse and avoidable harm?
  • Effective — does care achieve good outcomes and follow best practice?
  • Caring — do staff treat people with compassion, dignity and respect?
  • Responsive — is care organised around each person's needs?
  • Well-led — does leadership, governance and culture support high-quality care?
Yes. A domiciliary care agency can be run from a home office, because the care itself is delivered in clients' own homes rather than at your premises. You will still need to register with CQC, provide a suitable registered office address, and store records securely in line with GDPR. It is also worth checking your mortgage or tenancy terms, business insurance, and any local planning requirements before you start.

Care agencies generally win work through two main routes:

  • Funded clients — packages commissioned by local authorities, the NHS and integrated care boards, usually via framework agreements and tenders.
  • Private clients — self-funding individuals and families who find you directly.

Most growth comes from a professional website with strong local SEO, a Google Business Profile, listings on care directories, and referrals from social workers, hospital discharge teams and existing clients.

To win local-authority and NHS contracts you usually need to register on the relevant procurement portals and get onto approved provider lists or frameworks, then respond to tenders as they are published. Commissioners look for a good CQC rating, robust policies and safeguarding, adequate insurance, and evidence of safe staffing and quality care. A clear, well-evidenced tender submission is essential — our tender writing team helps providers put together competitive bids that meet these requirements.
