VPEG tried to register without help. Three separate applications went in and three came back. Capability was never the issue. The process was.

2The challenge

A process with no second chances.

CQC now returns new home care applications that are incomplete or inaccurate when they arrive, and a corrected one counts as a new application. One mismatch between the forms, statement of purpose and business plan is enough.

3What we did

Every document agrees with every other.

We started again: a business plan for their model and local market, a statement of purpose written to Schedule 3, a full set of policies and a training plan mapped to the Care Certificate. Then we checked every name, date, address, service user group and regulated activity across the pack. We coached their registered manager, who also holds the nominated individual role, with the Interview Prep Hub for practice in between.

Look for the mismatch.
In our experience, most returns come from documents that disagree, not from a lack of ability.
Treat it as a fresh start.
A corrected application joins the back of the queue, so send it right.

Why does CQC keep returning my application?

Usually because something is missing, or because the documents disagree with each other. Since 1 July 2025, CQC routinely returns new home care applications that are not complete or accurate when they arrive.

Do I lose my place in the queue if I resubmit?

Yes. CQC says a corrected home care application counts as a new application and does not keep its place in the queue.

What are the most common mismatches?

In our experience: different addresses, service user groups or regulated activities across the forms, statement of purpose and business plan, and names or dates that do not match. One mismatch is enough to stop an application.

Can you help after several failed attempts?

Yes. VPEG came to us after three. We start with a full review of what came back, then rebuild the pack so every document agrees.

Should I fix the old application or start again?

Our advice: after repeated returns, treat it as a fresh application. Patching one document at a time tends to create new mismatches elsewhere.

Can Care Sync Experts submit my CQC application for me?

No. The provider completes and submits its own application. We build and check the supporting pack, make sure the evidence agrees, and prepare the people CQC will interview.
