What a cheap policy pack actually buys you
A folder of generic documents with your name replaced at the top is not compliance. CQC does not assess whether you hold a policy, it assesses whether the thing the policy describes is happening, and it looks at your records to decide. The question worth asking any supplier is not how many documents you get, it is whether anybody has mapped them to the quality statements you will be scored against, and whether they will still be right in a year. What Domiciliary Care Policies Does the CQC Require?
The CQC does not publish a definitive checklist of required policies, but inspectors assess your service against the CQC Fundamental Standards and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Your policies must demonstrate compliance across every regulated area.

There is no CQC list of required policies to work from. CQC sets out the fundamental standards, Regulations 9 to 20A of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, and expects you to hold whatever documents evidence that you meet them. That is why two providers can hold very different packs and both be compliant, and why a pack that is not mapped to anything is difficult to defend in an assessment.
