Summary, notice description and lot information
Kent County Council has awarded a contract to UK Sapphire Foundation for a pilot programme titled "Black/Brown Mothers Peer Support Group," focusing on community health services. This initiative is set to operate in Dartford and Gravesham, Kent, aiming to support the maternal mental health of Black/Brown mothers. The procurement falls under the services category, with a contract signed on 11 November 2024 and running from 31 October 2024 to 31 March 2025.
The programme funded by the KCC’s Family Hubs programme grant has a budget of £36,000 and seeks to provide weekly peer support groups, enhance maternal and infant health, and empower mothers through education and advocacy. This tender offers a significant business growth opportunity for organisations specialising in community health services, particularly those experienced in delivering culturally relevant maternal health support. Companies catering to the demographic needs of Black and Brown communities, with competencies in mental health, infant health, and peer support, stand to benefit from participating in such contracts.
Successful bidders can establish strong relationships with local governments and healthcare providers, enhancing their portfolio and contributing to the social wellbeing of the community.
This is a notice of the award of the contract as required under the Healthcare Services (Provider Selection Regime) regulations 2023 11(17)(a). KCC are looking to procure a provider to deliver a pilot programme of peer support groups for up to 10 Black women in each of Dartford and Gravesham, Kent. The pilot programme is expected to commence on 31 October 2024 and complete 31 March 2025. The budget for this programme is based on funding from the KCC's Family Hubs programme grant.
