Summary, notice description and lot information
The Cairngorms National Park Authority is initiating the procurement process for managing and promoting cycle hubs in Aviemore, Glenmore, Grantown on Spey, and Ballater, as part of the Cairngorms 2030 project. Classified under the services category, this project is in the planning stage and aims to create community-led cycling initiatives offering services like cycle storage, bike leasing, and repairs. The initiative is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and the procurement method will depend on the estimated service value, with potential for a fixed-term service agreement lasting approximately three years.
A service provider contract will be negotiated accordingly. Interested parties can expect further notices after 21 July 2025. This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses involved in cycling services, sustainable transport solutions, and community engagement.
Organisations experienced in managing cycling hubs or developing community-based transportation services will find this contract especially favourable. Businesses that excel in innovative transportation solutions, including bicycle maintenance, leasing services, and logistics management, stand a strong chance in competing. Collaboration may also extend to those offering supplementary services, such as bike customisations and event organisation.
Capitalising on this tender will help companies align with eco-friendly travel initiatives and promote sustainable lifestyles within the Cairngorms National Park region.

Funding would be from National Lottery Heritage Fund, via Cairngorms 2030. The procurement route will be decided by the estimated value of the services provided. The form of contract is yet to be confirmed, but would be a Service Provider contract, for example an NEC Term service contract or NEC Alliance contract.
