Summary, notice description and lot information
North Somerset Council is currently in the tender stage for their "Emergency Accommodation Flexible Light Touch Framework 2026," located in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, within the UKK12 region. The procurement process, using an open procedure and governed by the Procurement Act 2023, seeks qualified providers to offer emergency accommodation for homeless households. The key categories include letting services for short-stay furnished accommodation and health and social work services.
The framework spans four years from April 2026, with the potential for extension, and is split into three lots: single adult room, adult couple room, and family room. Interested suppliers must submit their proposals by 12 January 2026, with awards anticipated by 16 March 2026. The tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses within the short-stay accommodation sector, particularly those adaptable to flexible framework terms.
Small and medium-sized enterprises are encouraged to apply, highlighting their capacity to meet quality, price, and social value criteria. This could provide growth avenues for businesses in the hospitality and housing sectors by supplying accommodations across multiple lots, directly impacting local support networks, employment, and community welfare. The framework allows for direct awards, emphasising availability and suitability, creating a collaborative environment for existing providers and new market entrants to expand their client base with North Somerset Council.
This Lot is for rooms to accommodate a single adult.
This Lot is for rooms to accommodate a couple or 2 people.
Lot 3 is for rooms, flats or houses to accommodate families, including babies and small children. These properties should accommodate a minimum of 2 adults and 1 child aged between 0-18, with suitable sleeping arrangements (and the provision of a suitable cot if required), however the Council would like to see suppliers offer the flexibility to scale this up or down where possible and subject to need. The council will always place families with children into self-contained accommodation wherever possible
