Summary, notice description and lot information
The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is set to initiate a contract titled "JW- Maes-Y-Dderwen" under the National Collaborative framework for adult mental health services. The procurement process, categorised under services, aims to establish a placement between ABUHB and Maes-Y-Dderwen, located in the UK, specifically within the framework's lot CS7. The announcement, dated 8 December 2025, marks the award update and contract update stages, as per the PSR Wales Regulations 2025.
Although the contract has not yet been formally awarded, it is under the consideration stage with projections due for completion in December 2025. The framework involves an open procedure for procurement with potential call-offs, and submissions must adhere to a standstill period where representations are expected by 8 December 2025. This tender presents an opportunity for large service providers experienced in mental health care placements to leverage their expertise in framework agreements.
Businesses that are part of the existing framework or those adept at meeting comprehensive healthcare requirements, particularly those offering enhanced care packages, are well-positioned for this opportunity. SHAW HEALTHCARE (GROUP) LTD has been named as the potential supplier, indicating the contract’s inclination for experienced and large-scale suppliers. SMEs or new entrants to this sector might find challenges unless they offer significant competitive advantages, aligning with the criteria set by the Commissioning Team for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.
Therefore, the tender process efficiently promotes business growth for established providers in the mental health service domain.
