The public procurement process titled "Meet the Buyer North 2025" is being organised by the Supplier Development Programme and involves several buyers such as Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, and The Highland Council. This event, categorized under general public services, is slated to occur on 10th September 2025 at the Music Hall in Aberdeen. Currently in the planning stage, this procurement process aims to facilitate networking between businesses and public sector organisations in Scotland.
The event also provides opportunities for businesses to engage with private contractors and business support services, significant topics for those looking to enter or expand their presence in the public procurement marketplace. Businesses interested in participating can register via the official event website, allowing them access to detailed agendas and opportunities to interact with key experts and procurement officials. This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses aiming to enhance their presence in the public sector, particularly those in civil engineering, roadworks, utilities, and geotechnical services.
The Meet the Buyer North 2025 event is designed to aid businesses, from small-scale enterprises to larger organisations, in understanding procurement processes and requirements, thereby increasing their capability to secure public sector contracts. Businesses with services or products related to specific lots outlined, like civil infrastructure, environmental engineering, and public utilities, will find attending highly beneficial. Moreover, the event offers strategic insights into how the public procurement process functions, providing a platform for businesses to showcase innovation and participate in one-on-one discussions that can propel business growth and foster long-term partnerships.
Whatever the size of a business, Meet the Buyer North events are useful to attend when considering bidding for future contracting opportunities, as they are specifically designed to help suppliers with the tendering process and helping suppliers understand what the buyers are looking for, introduce them to innovative goods, works and services, and offering insight on how bids are and will be evaluated from a procurement perspective. Meet the Buyer events also offer the opportunity to engage with business support initiatives, such as the Supplier Development Programme, local authority economic development representatives and Business Gateway representatives.
