Summary, notice description and lot information
North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with North of England Commissioning Support (NECS), has released a formal contract award notice under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023. This announcement outlines the award of a framework agreement for Third-Party 111 Online Services and Primary Care Speak To (PCST) Services, classified under Health and Social Work Services (CPV: 85000000). The framework applies across various locations in the North East of England, including Newcastle, North Tyneside, and Northumberland, among others.
The procurement process was conducted under an open procedure, with contracts commenced on 1 October 2025, concluding on 30 September 2029, with an option to extend up to two additional years based on performance. Contracts were formally awarded on 7 August 2025, following a competitive selection process, with a focus on quality, innovation, collaboration, and price. This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social work services, particularly those with expertise in digital health platforms and primary care support.
Companies such as DHU Healthcare have been identified as preferred suppliers, reflecting the potential for significant service provision roles. Accredited framework suppliers who did not secure the 'preferred supplier' status remain available for roles such as surge capacity during peak times, pilot initiatives, and potential contingency coverage. With contract values under this framework reaching several million pounds, opportunities for growth and expansion are available for businesses that can demonstrate superior quality and competitive pricing in health service provision.
The open procurement process encourages participation from capable suppliers committed to improving healthcare delivery through innovative and sustainable practices.
