The procurement process for the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway Services at HMP Ranby and HMP Holme House is being coordinated by NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England. This project, titled "Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway Services for HMP Ranby and HMP Holme House," falls under the health services category. It is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
The service, to be completed under a competitive process, is scheduled to commence on 1st April 2026, with the main contract spanning five years and options to extend by an additional two years. The intention to award notice was published on 19th November 2025, with a standstill period ending on 1st December 2025. The initial tender process concluded with influential dates such as the response deadline on 2nd October 2025.
The procurement method involved an open procedure. This procurement opportunity is especially beneficial for healthcare providers aiming to expand their services within the criminal justice system. The contract is valued at several million GBP, covering an extensive service duration, which offers significant business growth potential for qualified and experienced health service providers.
The service requires innovative approaches to quality and integration, emphasising collaboration and sustainability, making it ideal for organisations adept in providing complex healthcare solutions. Large NHS Trusts, such as the Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS FT, have already been actively involved, illustrating the calibre and capacity for businesses seeking participation in such public contracts. Opportunities for growth lie in the provision of specialised health services and solutions designed to improve mental health services within the correctional environment.
