Summary, notice description and lot information
Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a contract for the provision of packages of non-clinical interventions to Imagine Independence. This procurement falls under the health and social work services category, specifically aimed at proactive case identification. The formal award of the contract took place on 19 December 2024, with contract performance starting on 1 April 2025 and spanning three years, extendable for an additional two years.
The contract is valued at £540,000 and covers the Merseyside region. The procurement method used was the Provider Selection Regime (PSR), as per the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, bypassing the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, and utilizing a direct award process. This contract offers significant business growth opportunities, particularly for businesses involved in health and social work services.
Companies specialising in non-clinical health interventions and already familiar with the healthcare industry’s regulatory environment may find this tender particularly advantageous. Given that the Trust has opted for a direct award to an existing provider, other firms with proven track records in delivering high-quality non-clinical services and those looking to expand within the Merseyside region could sharpen their competitive edge by observing the standards and performance criteria set by this award process.
MCFT intends to contract with Imagine Independence, 25 Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 6BQ for the provision of packages of non-clinical interventions for service users who will be identified through proactive case identification. MCFT is currently in contract with Imagine Independence. For the new contract MCFT requires the service to be mobilised from 01 April 2025 for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years. It is intended to award the contract in accordance with the Provider Selection Regime Regulations under Direct Award Process C where there is an existing provider for the services and that existing provider is satisfying the original contract and will likely satisfy the proposed new contract, and the services are not changing considerably. The Senior Leadership Team of Mental Health Care Division have made the decision for the award of this contract. No conflicts of interest have been identified and this has been recorded inline with Trust policy.
