Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process for the "24010 Extra Care Schemes Doddington Court, Jubilee Court, Nichols Court, and Park View" was initiated by Cambridgeshire County Council. This contract, classified under Health and social work services, focused on providing extra care housing designed to maximise the independence of older individuals. The procurement covered locations within the UKH12 region and involved multiple lots, including Doddington Court, Jubilee Court, Nichols Court, and Park View.
After an open procedure, the tender proceeded to the award stage on 24 October 2025, with significant attention to quality and social value as criteria for selection. The contracts were signed on 29 August 2025, with Cambridgeshire County Council acting as the main buyer. This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care services.
Firms experienced in delivering personalised care for older adults, with capacity to supply both housing and around-the-clock social support, would find this contract particularly lucrative. Companies like Mears Extra Care Limited and Dear Universal Care Services (UK) Limited, which secured the awards, illustrate the advantageous position of large-scale suppliers able to manage extensive care environments. Businesses with expertise in adapting to flexible, outcome-focused service provisions would be well-suited for similar future opportunities, contributing to the overall strategy of promoting independence and reducing hospital admissions among service users.
