Summary, notice description and lot information
Bristol City Council, acting on behalf of Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire Councils, has recently completed the procurement process for BNSSG Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinical Services, awarding the contract to the University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The contract, valued between £27-31 million, spans seven years from 17 January 2025, with the option to extend for up to three additional years. This procurement falls under the services category within Health and Social Work Services and was carried out using a limited procurement method, following the Provider Selection Regime and the Most Suitable Provider process.
The awarded contract presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social work services, particularly those with expertise in sexual and reproductive health. Given the significant transformation anticipated in areas such as staffing, IT, and overall innovation over the contract's lifecycle, businesses that can offer innovative solutions, efficient practices, and a strong regional knowledge base will find this contract particularly lucrative. Large-scale providers with a deep understanding of the local, regional, and UK healthcare landscape, along with the ability to drive value and efficiency, are well-suited to compete in future procurement opportunities facilitated by Bristol City Council.
Further to the previous transparency notice ( and expired standstill period) announcing our intention to appoint the Most Suitable Provider for Sexual and Reproductive clinical services position to the University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, we are pleased to confirm that following due process ( Provider selection regime / MSP) and following on from previous notices, we have now entered into a contract with the same dated Friday 17th January. The contract has a 7 year term with the ability to extend by no more than three years and a value expected to be between PS27- 31 million
