Summary, notice description and lot information
The Argyll and Bute Council is currently conducting a tender for the "Carers Support Services", aimed at providing a variety of support services for carers in accordance with the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016. This open procurement process is taking place in Scotland, specifically in areas including Mid Argyll, Kintyre, Islay, Oban, Lorn, Cowal, Bute, and Helensburgh & Lomond. The tender is active with submissions due by 1st April 2019.
The contract period is proposed for up to three years, ensuring continuity of service delivery while adapting to the new legislative requirements. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in care services, particularly those with expertise in community support and social care. Businesses that can demonstrate compliance with the required standards, such as financial sustainability and insurance coverage, and hold relevant registrations will be well-positioned to compete.
A focus on providing high-quality services and community benefits will be critical, as these factors are key to the award criteria. Engaging in this tender could facilitate growth and establish long-term partnerships with the council, contributing to the ongoing support of carers within the community.
Range of support services to carers in line with the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016. Argyll and Bute Council on behalf of the Health and Social Care Parternship propose to enter into negotiations with its existing contracted providers for the continued provision of Carers Support Services in order to ensure continuity while implications of the new Act become clear. The contracts are yet to be developed but are likely to include a range of services in line with the requirements of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016. The intention is to agree a contract for up to a period of 3 years. This proposal should ensure continuity of provision while the new act is implemented and will allow time for any required redesign to take place.. Economic operators may be excluded from contracting with the Council if they are in any of the situations referred to in Regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. Information on this will be collected during prequalification.
