Summary, notice description and lot information
The Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust has recently awarded a contract named "Crisis Alternative for Adult Men" under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023. This procurement, focusing on health and social work services, aims to provide evidence-based education, tailored mental health support training, and signposting to professional services for adult men in Sefton who are lonely, isolated, and at risk of suicide. The contract was awarded directly to Seans Place without prior publication of a call for competition, effective from April 1, 2025, for an initial period of one year, with an option to extend for a further two years.
The total contract value is £108,000. This tender creates significant business growth opportunities, particularly for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specializing in mental health support, training, and social care services. As the contract aligns with a direct award procedure, existing providers who have previously delivered similar services successfully have a competitive edge.
Organisations that can offer comprehensive mental health support and have experience in handling community-based services for vulnerable groups will find this tender particularly well-suited to their capabilities and growth objectives.
MCFT intends to contract with Seans Place, 211 Linacre Lane, Liverpool, L20 6AD for the provision of evidence-based education, tailored mental health support training and experience and signposting to professional services and other third sector support when necessary. MCFT is currently in contract with Seans Place. For the new contract MCFT requires the service to be mobilised from 01 April 2025 for a period of 1 year with the option to extend for a further 2 years. It is intended to award the contract in accordance with the Provider Selection Regime Regulations under Direct Award Process C where there is an existing provider for the services and that existing provider is satisfying the original contract and will likely satisfy the proposed new contract, and the services are not changing considerably. The Senior Leadership Team of Mental Health Care Division have made the decision for the award of this contract. No conflicts of interest have been identified and this has been recorded inline with Trust policy.
