NHS Derby & Derbyshire Integrated Care Board are seeking to commission a Children's Community Nursing Service (for Children and Young People with Complex Health Needs in Education Settings).

Children and Young People (CYP) with medical conditions or complex health needs, will require a number of adults who are competent to support them in meeting their care needs, as it is not possible for them to do this for themselves. This will be achieved by either upskilling and enhancing skills of the education setting workforce with the appropriate training to enable them to undertake tasks that have been identified and are safe to do so by a registered health professional, or through appropriate delegation to health and care staff. This decision will be made using appropriate locally agreed Joined Up Care Derbyshire agreed clinical tools aligned to relevant national guidance.

The service aims to provide oversight and assurance of the healthcare requirements identified for the CYP, through multidisciplinary assessments, and that these are being met in a safe and effective way whilst the CYP is in an educational setting. The service will work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers, children and young people and other professionals involved in children's care to support their needs.

This notice is to communicate the intention to not award a contract having undertaken the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Competitive Process.
