On 11th June 2025, NHS Devon Integrated Care Board initiated planning for recommissioning the Children & Young People's In-Reach Discharge Support Service. This process was conducted under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, with an expected start date for services on 1st April 2026. The procurement follows an open method and targets health services within the Devon footprint, aligning with Plymouth, Devon, and Torbay local authorities.
The tender process laid out requirements for community-based support across these areas, aimed at facilitating discharge from and avoiding admission to acute care settings. This planning stage involved engaging potential providers to assess the level of interest and determine feasible contract details. Stakeholders were invited to register their interest by 23rd June 2025.
This tender represents a significant business opportunity for providers specialising in health services, particularly those with expertise in mental health support for children and young people. Organisations that can offer innovative, collaborative, and sustainable service delivery models are well-suited to compete for this contract.
