Summary, notice description and lot information
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is currently in the tender stage for the provision of primary healthcare services at His Majesty's Prison (HMP) & Young Offenders Institution (YOI) Parc. This tender seeks to ensure healthcare services provided in the prison match the standards available to the wider community, aiming to reduce health inequalities. The procurement is divided into two lots: GP In Hours Service and GP Out of Hours Service.
The contract period is set from 1st July 2025 to 30th June 2026, with options for a two-year extension in 12-month intervals. Bidders must submit their proposals electronically by 21st March 2025, 12:00 PM, and the estimated contract value is £2,151,000. The services will be delivered in the UK, and the procurement follows an open procedure.
This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those experienced in providing primary care in challenging environments such as correctional facilities. Given the necessity for high-quality service provision, businesses with robust healthcare delivery frameworks, comprehensive GP services, and the ability to meet stringent quality criteria would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, the potential for contract extension offers a longer-term business relationship, making this an attractive tender for established healthcare providers looking to expand their service reach within public sector healthcare procurements.
