Summary, notice description and lot information
The General Dental Council (GDC) has announced the planning stage for a procurement process titled "Health and Medical Assessment and Expert Witness Services in relation to Fitness to Practice" within the health services industry. The procurement process, which aims to support the GDC in making informed decisions regarding dental professionals' fitness to practice, will take place in the United Kingdom. The process officially starts on 13 May 2025, with key dates including the end of the procurement stage on 10 June 2025 and the contract go-live date on 4 September 2025.
Interested parties are encouraged to complete an expression of interest form on the Delta eSourcing website by midnight on 5 May 2025. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses with expertise in health and medical assessments, particularly those capable of providing independent assessments and expert witness services. The successful bidder will facilitate medical assessments across the UK, addressing various health concerns and providing detailed reports to aid the GDC's decision-making.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, given the GDC's requirements and the open competition procurement method. The contract value is estimated at £576,000, with the potential for extension beyond the initial three-year period, making it an attractive opportunity for capable service providers.
We anticipate award a contract for an initial 3 years with the option for it to be extended by a further 2 years. There will also be an additional 12-week contract exit period to complete cases and execute the contract exit plan only.
