Summary, notice description and lot information
The Healthy Weight Service procurement was initiated by the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, aiming to deliver innovative health and social work services, classified under the CPV code 85000000. This service is part of a broader strategy to enhance healthy weight initiatives within the community, leveraging the expertise of a collaborative partner under an open procurement method. The active tender, valued at £1,700,000, focuses on the Barking region (UKI52) and follows the open procedure, compliant with the GPA standards.
The procurement stage, currently at the tender phase, sees its process anticipated to award from January 16th, 2025, with the submission deadline set for 12 noon on the same date. Additionally, DDM Health Ltd has been awarded an £850,000 contract earlier, indicating a successful conclusion in one segment of the efforts. This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses engaged in community health services by participating in a framework that fosters innovation and collaboration.
Ideal candidates would be entities capable of presenting a consortium, combining diverse skills and experiences to co-produce effective, community-driven health solutions. The invitation for flexible and sustainable approaches in addressing healthy weight challenges suggests that businesses with experience in public health engagement, community networking, and the implementation of health initiatives should consider participation. Furthermore, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a focus on social impact and health innovation will find the tender particularly conducive to showcasing capabilities and expanding their operational reach.
The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham commissioned a development and delivery partner to work collaboratively with the council, it's partners and communities to co-produce new ways of supporting healthy weight for many more people in the borough. The selected partner will act as an enabler in this process of change - using their expertise in engaging with communities, networks, VCFS partners and other organisations, as well as their experience of developing innovative healthy weight initiatives, to create a new system level, community-led approach to improving healthy weight in Barking & Dagenham. We know that that this development will be iterative and based on community insights so whilst we are clear about the outcomes we want to see and we want to move quickly to provide more support, our approach is very much about listening, testing and learning to deliver effective, accessible local initiatives that work and are sustainable. As such the selected provider must be willing and able to work flexibly & collaboratively with us on that basis. We recognise that this is an innovative approach and that no single organisation may be able to achieve this alone, so we would very much welcome consortia bids that can demonstrate the range of skills, knowledge and experience we need to deliver this change
