Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Haringey has completed the award stage of a procurement process for the Joint Children's Advocacy Service for the London Boroughs of Enfield and Haringey. The contract aims to provide an independent and confidential advocacy service to children and young people, ensuring their rights are respected. The contract has been awarded to Action for Children Services Limited, commencing on 1st July 2025 for an initial period of three years, with an option to extend up to two additional years.

This service falls under the health and social work services category, with a total contract value of £450,000, and is set to operate within London, United Kingdom. The procurement was executed using an open procedure, ensuring a competitive and transparent tendering process. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in health and social services to engage with local government projects that focus on advocacy and youth support.

Organisations that specialise in child welfare, social work, or community services are particularly well-suited for engagements like this. Smaller enterprises and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) will find an inclusive opportunity, given the procurement's consideration for such entities. By participating in tenders of this nature, businesses can expand their service offerings, gain valuable experience in the public sector, and contribute positively to the community's welfare.

Notice Description

Award of contract for Provision of Joint Children's Advocacy Service for the London Boroughs of Enfield and Haringey. The service will provide an independent and confidential advocacy service to children and young people under the age of 18 or up to 25 if care-leavers. Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the Human Rights Act 1998 also underpin this statutory responsibility. Advocacy safeguards children and young people and protects them from abuse and poor practice.

Advocacy is about speaking up for children and young people. Advocacy is about empowering children and young people to make sure that their rights are respected, and their views and wishes are heard at all times. The contract will be awarded for an initial period of three (3) years, starting from 1st July 2025, with the option to extend for a further period or periods of up to 2 years
