Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board has completed the procurement process for providing an Individual Placement and Support Service aimed at assisting individuals with severe mental health issues in Norfolk and Waveney. The award stage updated on the 24th of September 2025 confirms Norfolk and Waveney Mind as the successful supplier following an open tender procedure. The contract, valued at a maximum of £8,929,074, spans five years with an optional two-year extension, and will deploy employment specialists into secondary mental health teams to collaborate with clinical staff and employers, enhancing employment opportunities for the target population.
The procurement was conducted under the Provider Selection Regime, exempting it from the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This contract offers significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in health and social work services and possessing expertise in employment support for individuals with mental health challenges. Companies capable of integrating employment solutions that align with the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model are encouraged, as this model is highly regarded by both the NHS and the Department for Work and Pensions.
The competitive tender process highlighted key criteria encompassing quality, innovation, service sustainability, and societal value, suggesting that enterprises excelling in these areas, especially with existing ties to local employers and mental health teams, are well-suited to benefit from similar opportunities in the future.
