Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process for the Provision of Insourced Ophthalmology Services is being managed by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The tender, classified under the CPV code for Ophthalmologist services (85121281), falls within the services industry category. The procurement is conducted as an open procedure under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and is not governed by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
This contract, valued at £1,250,000 with a term from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026 and an option to extend for three months, aims to address the ophthalmology service demands primarily at the Hull Royal Infirmary. Key submission deadlines include the end of the tender period on 20th December 2024, with bids to be opened on 23rd December 2024. This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses equipped to deliver specialised ophthalmology services, particularly companies that can provide qualified consultant ophthalmologists and supporting medical staff such as imaging technicians, registered nurses, and orthoptists.
The ability to facilitate sub-specialty clinics such as Glaucoma, Neuro, and Oculoplastic, among others, implies a demand for specialised expertise, making it ideal for businesses with a track record in similar NHS collaborations. With a minimum requirement of 400 patient appointments per month, the opportunity supports both short-term project execution and potential for future contract extensions, fostering growth for businesses that can meet the specialised healthcare staffing and procedural needs.
