The Complex Needs Housing Contract aims to provide opportunities for behaviour change, health improvements and to deliver positive outcomes for individuals with Complex Needs, families and communities. The Authority is working in partnership with Preston City Council (PCC). A requirement of PCC is to ensure the Provider meets the current housing requirements as part of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Supported Housing Improvement Programme (SHIP). The purpose of the SHIP programme is to improve standards, establish the need, ensure value for money and positive impact on local communities of supported housing. As part of the programme Preston City Council are carrying out reviews of all supported housing within the city, joint working with Housing Standards, Housing Benefits, Housing Options, external agencies and providers of supported accommodation in Preston. Phase 1 In order to ensure the service meets the SHIP standards, all applicants will be required to complete and submit the Supported Accommodation Questionnaire on the PCC website www.preston.gov.uk Guidance for new supported housing schemes - Preston City Council Phase 2 On successful submission you will receive a unique code. Following this, the PCC SHIP team will verify the documents and commence the inspection. The process will take up to eight weeks to complete., The SHIP team will provide written notification of the outcome of their inspections. The Authority will only accept approved SHIP applications. Evidence will be required as part of the submission and will be a pass/fail requirement. It is anticipated the tender will be available for application from March 2025.
