Short Breaks for Children and Young People with Disabilities and their Families (Re-opening)

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council has completed the procurement process for the "Short Breaks for Children and Young People with Disabilities and their Families" project, under the health and social work services category. This open framework procedure, structured into four lots—Clubs, Individual Support Services, Overnight Support Away from Home, and Services in the Community—will run from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2028. The tender process commenced with opportunities for suppliers to submit proposals until 11 February 2025.

The awarded contracts were finalised on 25 March 2025, with an estimated total value of £3,600,000. This contract creates substantial opportunities for SMEs and VCSEs in the health, social, and community services sectors. Businesses specializing in child-focused care and support services, particularly those with experience in managing clubs, individual support, overnight care, or community-based services, are well-positioned to benefit.
