Summary, notice description and lot information
Worcestershire County Council is spearheading a procurement initiative, titled "STAGE 1 - (CSC25073) 2 - 3 BED FURNISHED ACCOMMODATION FOR UNACCOMPANIED ASYLUM-SEEKING CHILDREN (UASC) CARE LEAVERS," aimed at securing housing services and social work services with accommodation for UASC care leavers. This process involves selective procurement through a competitive flexible procedure, focusing on service categories within Worcester City, Redditch, Bromsgrove, and potentially Kidderminster, in the United Kingdom. With the procurement stage recently concluded, the awarded contracts are set to commence on 1 January 2026, running through to 31 December 2028, with a renewal option of up to two years, pending funding and future priorities.
The contracts have been awarded to suppliers such as Lyra Court Ltd and Caring for Communities and People, with the initiative generating substantial opportunities across various lots. This procurement offers significant growth opportunities for businesses within the housing services and social work sectors, particularly those capable of providing furnished accommodation that meets the cultural needs of UASC care leavers. Notably, a selective procedure with a light-touch regime was employed, highlighting flexibility and competitiveness suitable for small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The contract structure—enabling bids for one or more lots—facilitates participation for both large organisations and smaller VCSE entities, thus broadening the competitive landscape. Services provided will cover crucial areas around Worcestershire, thus promising direct community engagement and impact. Additionally, the renewal possibility adds an extended opportunity for committed suppliers to sustain their business growth trajectory over an extended period.

The Council is looking to block book 2 or 3 bedded HMO in Bromsgrove providing UASC Care Leavers with a suitable location to meet their cultural needs.
