Derry City and Strabane District Council are inviting suppliers to tender for the PEACEPLUS Out and About (BAME) programme. This is a community action project aimed at the BAME populations within the council area. The tender falls under the "Community action programme" industry category (CPV code 85322000) and will focus on social and capacity building over a two-year period.
The procurement process is at the active tender stage, with submissions closing on 14 June 2024. The contract value is estimated at £82,000. Bidders will engage in an open procedure, with Derry, UKN0A as the project’s delivery region.
This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in social and community services, particularly those with experience in engaging with diverse ethnic communities. Its dual focus on developing arts facilitators and enhancing intergenerational understanding of Northern Ireland’s cultural heritage makes it ideal for consultancies and organisations skilled in professional training, cultural integration, and community engagement. The project is funded by the European Union under the PEACEPLUS Programme, highlighting the potential for further collaborative and high-impact community projects.
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for PeacePlus Out and About (BAME). This is one of several key BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) projects within the Local Co-Designed Action Plan. This project is a social and capacity 2-year project. BAME council area residents (along with some members of the wider community) will explore and understand Northern Ireland's places, culture, heritage and traditions as well as engaging in capacity work. During the co-design process, a need for this engagement was identified through established, constituted, and predominantly voluntary BAME Sector Groups including Filipino, Polish, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Muslim and other identities. There are two strands to the programme: Strand 1: Creative Facilitators: Recruit and develop 20 new creative BAME/Under-represented arts facilitators. Strand 2: Out and About - Social, Political and Cultural Awareness. This will engage 120 BAME and wider participants in intergenerational programme to understand NI and post-conflict context today. Please refer to the CfT documents for further detail.
