Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process conducted by NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board (BLMK ICB) involves the intention to directly award a contract for community services in Newport Pagnell. The industry category focuses on health services, with specific services including Community Matron, District Nurses, and in-house clinics such as Urology. This falls under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, distinct from the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
The procurement process is in the 'Award' stage, marked by the publication date of 1st September 2025, and providers have until midnight on 11th September 2025 to submit representations under the standstill period. The contract is set to commence on 1st April 2026 and last for two years, situated in Milton Keynes (UKJ12 region). This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those with expertise in managing long-term conditions and providing integrated healthcare solutions.
Companies capable of delivering seamless and community-oriented healthcare services, including specialist surgical outreach, would be well-suited to compete. The Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is the intended supplier, suggesting that established providers with a proven track record in similar contracts might have a competitive advantage. With an expected contract value of £1,545,226, this procurement offers a substantial avenue for business growth and service expansion in the healthcare sector.
The District Nursing (DN) service will provide nursing care to housebound people either to promote and maintain independence or to ensure people with long term care needs and end of life care are managed appropriately. The service will also support families and carers, and ensure patients have seamless access to services by other health and social care providers where these are more appropriate. The service will promote healthier lifestyles; physical, psychological and social wellbeing; protection for vulnerable adults and support and encouragement for people with disability and long term conditions to live independent lives. The Service provides advice and a comprehensive range of treatments that enable an individual to avoid unnecessary GP appointments or admission to hospital. Where hospitalisation is necessary, the service will work to facilitate an early discharge back into the community.

The provider will provide integrated, practice based Community Matron service for the NPMC practice patients to improve the management of patients with long term conditions.

They offer specialist, surgical outreach services for Service users of Newport Pagnell Medical Centre and Kingfisher GP practices.
