Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (BSol ICB) is in the planning stage of a tender process for the provision of Complex Dementia Discharge to Assess (D2A) beds. This procurement is sought under the legal basis of Health Services (pursuant to Directive 2014/24/EU) and falls under the CPV code 85100000, categorising it within health services. The initiative will serve the Birmingham and Solihull region (area code UKG3) with the aim to furnish up to 35 beds, combining block and spot purchased versions, over a potential 3-year contract period with an option to extend for another 2 years.
The indicative annual value of the contract is £2,950,663, linked to national inflation guidance. Currently, this tender is at the 'planned' stage, with a future notice date set for 1st August 2025. A virtual Market Engagement Event is scheduled for 3rd July 2025, and interested parties need to submit their response no later than 1st July 2025.
This market engagement offers business growth prospects for organisations specialising in residential nursing care or related health service industries. Businesses with expertise in managing dementia care environments, providing rehabilitation services, or those with a robust understanding of integrated health and social care solutions are positioned to benefit from participating in this tender. The process encourages competitive bids from providers capable of supporting the seamless transition of patients from acute hospital settings to appropriate care facilities, thereby aiding in strategically designing service delivery models and financial strategies.
This invitation to engage is an excellent opportunity for businesses to influence key elements of service provision in collaboration with the NHS, potentially leading to long-term partnership opportunities within the healthcare sector.
