Framework Agreement for the Provision of Insourcing / Outsourcing Clinical, Surgical and Diagnostic Procedures

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, has successfully completed a contracting process for a framework agreement involving insourcing and outsourcing of clinical, surgical, and diagnostic procedures. This framework, effective from 1 April 2023 until 31 March 2027 with an extension option, encompasses multiple health boards across Wales, including locations such as Cardiff and Vale, Pontypool, and St Asaph. The procurement method was an open procedure, focusing on various disciplines in the health category.

The latest award stage took place on 16 May 2025, following a series of comprehensive bidding processes for different lots, addressing various medical services and associated facilities. This framework presents significant opportunities for SMEs and other businesses focusing on healthcare outsourcing and insourcing services.
