Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has completed the procurement process for locally enhanced services at the Wickersley Health Centre, located in Rotherham. This contract, part of the GP Local Enhanced Services for 2025/26, focuses on general-practitioner services within the healthcare industry. It was awarded following a direct award process under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, with the award decision made by the Primary Care Delivery Group.
The services will be provided by Wickersley Medical Practice from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. The procurement stage is complete, with the contract having been signed on 7th July 2025. The procurement method was a limited procedure without prior publication, and the contract value follows the NHS Payment Scheme, although the total contract value remains unspecified.
This tender offers growth opportunities for healthcare providers with expertise in delivering locally enhanced services in conjunction with the GP Framework. Businesses specialising in healthcare, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) like Wickersley Medical Practice, that are already part of the existing provider group, would be well-positioned to compete for similar contracts. The emphasis on service delivery based on activity and integration with the NHS system underscores the potential for stable revenue aligned with nationally mandated pricing structures.
This contract exemplifies a model that fosters continuity of care and reinforces the relationship between general practitioner services and enhanced healthcare delivery, providing a robust platform for business expansion within the healthcare sector.
The provider is commissioned to deliver locally enhanced services for the Rotherham
population. This contract Award has been made following direct award process B under the
Provider Selection Regime.
These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not
restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the
contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be
delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via
the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to
enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency
between the two services is paramount.
The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract award is from
01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026. This is an existing service from an existing provider. Additional information: The contract value is unknown. The provider is paid in line with the relevant unit prices for the activity delivered in accordance with the nationally mandated NHS Payment Scheme.
