Summary, notice description and lot information
Worcestershire County Council has announced an intention to award contracts under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023 for substance misuse services. The procurement process, which has reached the award stage, involves two key initiatives funded through the Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Improvement Grant (DATRIG). The contracts split into two lots: Lot 1 focuses on Harm Reduction Outreach Service to address substance misuse issues in Worcestershire, and Lot 2 targets Recovery and Aftercare Services for adults aiming at sustaining abstinence or reduced substance use.
Both services will run from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, with potential extensions subject to future grant funding. Representations by providers are to be submitted by 25 March 2025, and the standstill period begins immediately after this notice's publication. The council has identified Maggs Day Centre and Emerging Futures CIC as preferred suppliers for Lot 1 and Lot 2, respectively.
This tender provides significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in rehabilitation services and substance misuse support. The focus on harm reduction and recovery aligns well with organisations experienced in delivering public health interventions and those with innovative approaches in the field. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating within the health and social care sectors are particularly well-suited for these lots, owing to the need for integrated, sustainable service delivery that enhances community health outcomes.
The open competitive process encourages diverse participation, promoting service quality, innovation, and social value, making it an attractive opportunity for businesses seeking to expand their portfolio in public health services.
