Summary, notice description and lot information
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is undertaking a procurement process for the "Histology Reporting" service, primarily classified under pathology services. This procurement falls within the services industry category and is geographically located in Worcester, UK, specifically serving the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. The current stage of the procurement is the Tender stage, where an open procedure is being utilised, allowing for broad participation.
The tender period is set to close on 17th September 2025. The project involves a contract valued at £2,080,000, with a primary focus on providing comprehensive diagnostic reports for submitted samples. The contract will span 720 days with potential optional extensions for up to four years in total.
This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in medical diagnostics and pathology services to expand their portfolio with a major public health institution. Suitable candidates would include firms with capabilities in handling both physical and digital submissions of patient data and pathology samples, ensuring prompt and accurate reporting. The open procurement method favours businesses that can demonstrate cost-effectiveness, as the award criteria prominently include pricing considerations.
This opportunity is ideally suited for providers with robust infrastructure for secure and reliable diagnostics delivery, particularly those capable of innovating with digital slide submissions where feasible.
