The London Borough of Hillingdon has awarded a contract for the "Local Healthwatch Service in Hillingdon" to Your Voice in Health & Social Care, located in the UK region UKI74. This contract, in the services industry category, particularly health and social work services, aims to deliver statutory functions of a local Healthwatch in the borough. The contract was signed on 9th July 2025, covering an initial term of five years, with an option to extend for an additional three years, making the total possible duration eight years.
This procurement followed an open procedure and is currently in the award stage, having concluded successfully with a contract value of £992,970 over eight years. The initial tender was active until 17th March 2025, with the submission deadline set for 10th March 2025. The procurement aims to support the statutory obligations of the borough's health and wellbeing strategy until 2025.
This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the health and social care sector, particularly those functioning as social enterprises, which are legally required to deliver these services under this contract. Businesses experienced in consumer advocacy and public health service delivery would be well-suited to provide the necessary feedback, research, and information required to enhance local health and social care services. This contract offers a long-term commitment to improving health outcomes in Hillingdon and encourages participation from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and organisations that act for the community's benefit.
This procurement process can foster business growth through the substantial contract length and value, enabling firms to contribute meaningfully to public health initiatives and community well-being.
The London Borough of Hillingdon awards a contract with a Service Provider who will deliver the statutory functions of a local Healthwatch. The contract is intended to deliver the Council's statutory obligation to ensure that there continues to be a local Healthwatch in the borough. As set out in Hillingdon's statutory 2022 - 2025 Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, the Council and its health and care partners seeks to improve the health and wellbeing of all our residents and to reduce disparities in health and care across our communities. The Healthwatch Service has a vital role to assist local health and social care commissioners and providers, and community stakeholders, by providing feedback, research and information about the views and experiences of local residents of using health and social care services to raise standards of service provision. The local Healthwatch contract will be for a period of five years with the option to extend for up to three further years, i.e., a maximum of eight years. The Council is seeking a Service Provider who will undertake the role of an independent consumer champion for the wider public and people using health and social care services, or who may use these services, including unpaid carers.
