Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire ICB has awarded a GP Locally Commissioned Service Contract to Harold Street Medical Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This process is part of the Provider Selection Regime under the Health care Services Regulations 2023, outside the scope of the Procurement Act Regulations 2023. The procurement method employed was limited, involving an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition.
00, will run from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026, focusing on general-practitioner services. The award decision was made in July 2024 by the Sheffield Senior Management Team and Leadership Team, ensuring there were no conflicts of interest. This tender presents opportunities for businesses specialised in healthcare services, particularly those capable of delivering GP Locally Commissioned Services.
It is an ideal prospect for organisations that are already part of the GP Framework, as the interdependency with the existing services is essential. Business growth can be fostered by leveraging the activity-based payment structure and adhering to local pricing guidelines. With a focus on quality criteria where there is "no realistic alternative provider," this contract favours established providers capable of integrating the LCS with existing GP services.
Small and medium-sized enterprises involved in the healthcare sector, particularly those already operating within the GP framework, would be well-suited to benefit from and compete for such opportunities.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
