Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract for GP Locally Commissioned Services to Selborne Road Medical Centre, located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The tender falls under the industry category of Health Services, specifically General-practitioner services (CPV: 85121100). This contract represents a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) confirmation, awarded under the Health care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and does not adhere to the Procurement Act Regulations 2023.
The award decision was confirmed in July 2024, and the contract runs from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. The procurement method was a limited procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, focusing on quality criteria with no realistic alternative provider. This contract offers an opportunity for service providers within the healthcare sector, especially those holding existing GP Framework contracts, to collaborate in delivering enhanced services.
The contract's provision allows payment on an activity basis at local pricing, potentially increasing revenue streams for those involved. Although this specific tender is directed to a group of existing providers, businesses specialising in GP services that align with the specification criteria could be well-suited to compete in similar future opportunities. Companies looking to expand or solidify their presence in the health services sector, particularly within the Yorkshire region, may find this contract illustrative of potential opportunities despite its closed nature.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
