Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire ICB has confirmed the award of a contract under the Provider Selection Regime, specifically for GP Locally Commissioned Services at the Woodseats Medical Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This procurement falls under the category of General-practitioner services and is classified within the services industry. The contract, running from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2026, was awarded following a limited procurement method, which did not involve a prior call for competition.
The decision to award was made by the Sheffield Senior Management Team in July 2024, and the awarding reflects the unique requirements of the GP Framework contract. This tender presents opportunities for healthcare service providers, particularly those who can fulfil the specifications necessitated by the GP Framework. As the procurement process requires an interdependent delivery of the Locally Commissioned Services in alignment with existing GP services, businesses specialising in integrated healthcare delivery can leverage this contract to expand their operational footprint.
Woodseats Medical Centre, an existing SME within the region, exemplifies the type of provider suitable for such opportunities, where service provision is activity-based with remuneration aligned to local pricing structures. Business entities that are able to meet these contractual criteria have the potential to experience significant growth within this public healthcare framework.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
