Oral Health Promotion - 422-NYC-HA
Overview
Summary, notice description and lot information
The North Yorkshire Council is overseeing the procurement process for the "Oral Health Promotion - 422-NYC-HA" project, currently in the tender stage with a submission deadline on the 23rd of December 2025. This procurement focuses on the education and training services category with a light touch procurement approach. Two main elements form the core of this service: a supervised toothbrushing programme targeting North Yorkshire's under 5 population and a digital workforce development programme for professionals aiding vulnerable groups.
Valued at £300,000, this open competition presents an opportunity for companies specialising in health improvement initiatives. The main delivery region is UKE2, and the successful supplier will engage various partners in health, education, and social care sectors. This tender represents a substantial business opportunity to engage in a multi-disciplinary project impacting health outcomes among vulnerable populations.
Companies adept in delivering training and community health programmes, particularly those with experience in digital solutions and educational initiatives, would be well-positioned to compete. Furthermore, the procurement is open to SMEs and voluntary and community sector enterprises, making it an accessible opportunity for diverse organisations ready to innovate in public health promotion. The contract period extends from 1st April 2026, with potential renewals until 31st March 2031, offering a long-term engagement prospect for the winning bidder.
The Authority is seeking a Supplier that will work with a range of health, educational and social care partners and communities to deliver evidence informed oral health improvement programmes that meet local needs and impact on health improvement. There will be two core elements to the Oral Health Promotion Service: * The service will aim to improve the oral health of North Yorkshire's under 5 population through a daily supervised toothbrushing (STB) programme in areas of greatest need. As a minimum this would involve maintaining the existing level of provision to targeted Early Years Settings, Primary Schools and Special Schools. * This will be delivered alongside a predominantly virtual and digital workforce development programme for professionals within adult and children's services who support vulnerable population groups.
This programme aims to improve the confidence and competencies required to deliver evidence-based oral health promotion advice and support as part of their routine practice.
