The key objectives of the service are: - To ensure the provision of safe and effective cataract service provision to NHS patients - To free up outpatient and primary eye care capacity for patients at higher risk of sight loss. - SpaMedica are a familiar provider that can support the delivery of additional Cataracts activity, ensuring patients are seen within appropriate wait times. Without access to an outsourced solution, Swansea Bay University Health Board are currently at risk of under delivery of activity, which will have a significant impact to patient's health Expected service start date will be immediately in May 2025.
