Summary, notice description and lot information
The South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is planning a procurement process for a Placenta/Newborn Autopsy Testing Service, classified under the Pathology services industry category. The procurement is in the planning stage, with a key deadline being the expiration of the current contract on 31 March 2025. This direct award is valued at £88,800 and is proposed to be awarded to NUTH for two years.
The services will be delivered at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, with critical dates including a future notice on 28 February 2025. The procurement method is a PSR Direct Award C, reflecting the Trust’s existing satisfaction with NUTH’s service delivery. This tender offers a significant opportunity for businesses operating within the healthcare sector, particularly those specialising in pathology and sensitive autopsy testing services.
As the service can only be provided by government-registered suppliers, businesses with the appropriate registrations and certifications would be well-suited to compete. The long-term nature of the contract provides a stable revenue stream and the potential to strengthen or establish a partnership with a reputable NHS Trust, fostering further business growth in the healthcare industry.
