Summary, notice description and lot information
The Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) has successfully completed the procurement process for the provision of the Humber North Yorkshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP), focusing on gastroenterologist services. This contract, valued at £674,438, was awarded on 1st April 2025 under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) 2023 regulations, specifically for healthcare services. As the Lead Provider, HDFT is responsible for subcontracting to participating trusts, including York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (YSTHFT), which will deliver the services in the geographical areas covering Humber, North Yorkshire, and York.
The procurement method employed was a direct award without prior publication, as it falls outside the scope of the usual directive requirements. This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in healthcare services, specifically within the field of gastroenterology. Large healthcare providers such as NHS Trusts are ideally positioned to take advantage of such opportunities, allowing them to expand their service delivery capabilities and participate in specialised programmes like BCSP.
The direct award method indicates a streamlined selection process, making it particularly attractive for organisations possessing the necessary credentials and region-specific capabilities to engage in this collaborative effort under NHS Public Health's jurisdiction.
