Summary, notice description and lot information
The public procurement process involves NHS Northamptonshire ICB as the buying organisation, focusing on the provision of Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery and Conscious Sedation at Oasis in Northampton. This procurement falls under the industry category of Dental Practice and Related Services, with the geographic location targeted in the East Midlands region, specifically Northampton. The current stage of the procurement is a contract modification, extending the contract to 30th November 2025 to allow the Commissioner time to conduct a competitive process.
The contract modification was carried out under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and the cumulative change in contract value remains below 25%. This extension comes after a previously abandoned procurement process, signalling an opportunity for further competitive tendering within the remaining timeframe. This contract presents opportunities for dental service providers, particularly those specialising in oral surgery and conscious sedation.
Businesses with enhanced skills and experience in handling complex dental cases or those dealing with medically complex or dentally anxious patients may find this tender particularly suited to their expertise. The extension period could allow such businesses to prepare for an upcoming competitive process, providing potential growth opportunities within the healthcare sector in the East Midlands, specifically targeting needs for Level 2 care services. The procurement method will eventually incorporate competitive elements, offering an opportunity for qualified providers to engage and expand their footprint within NHS contracts.
