Summary, notice description and lot information
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is seeking to award a framework contract for the provision of short breaks for children and young people with disabilities and their families. The procurement falls within the health and social work services industry category and is located in the UKC12 region. The current procurement stage is the Award stage, with contracts for the awarded suppliers signed on 25 March 2025.
The framework, which is divided into four lots, covers clubs, individual support services, overnight support away from home, and community services. The framework is set to reopen every six months for new applications, with specific deadlines detailed in the tender documentation available on the e-tender system. This framework offers significant opportunities for a variety of businesses, particularly those specialising in healthcare and social services.
SMEs are especially well-suited to compete due to the focus on personalised and community-based services. Businesses offering quality after school, weekend, and holiday clubs, personalised 1:1 support services, or overnight care in registered venues can find substantial business potential in this framework. Additionally, the framework has provisions for community and outreach services, making it an excellent opportunity for local providers looking to expand their services and establish long-term relationships with the local authority.
Redcar and Cleveland commissioned clubs in local accessible venues identified by providers. Clubs may include but are not limited to after school clubs, weekend clubs and holiday clubs.
Individual Support Services that are personalised to meet an individual's needs and are usually provided as a solo service requiring 1:1 support or higher. Care and/or support can be provided in the family home or in the community.
Overnight support provided outside of the family home in a registered venue/home.
Any community or outreach service that isn't covered in Lot 2 or 3 that could provide a specialist short break.
