Service in scope: An FTS Intention to Award Notice was published on the 4th April 2024 with a standstill period of 8 business days in accordance with the Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The contract was awarded to Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (formerly known as St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) The provider was assessed against the 5 key award criteria, based on a narrative assessment completed by the St Helens Public Health Team, taking account of contract management information held, including performance data and outcome measures. These key criteria were equally weighted and prioritised. Benchmarking of costs and service provision was undertaken with neighbouring authorities. Knowledge and experience of working with the provider was applied to each criterion. The basic selection criteria were also assessed as met, as listed in PSR Regulations 2023 (schedule 16) The intention to award decision was made by St Helens Borough Council on 3rd April 2024. The contract duration is from the 1st July 2024 - 31st March 2027 with two options to extend each for one year until 31st March 2029 (2.75 years +1+1)
