Summary, notice description and lot information
Conwy County Borough Council initiated a tender process to procure supported living services for individuals with disabilities, classified under the CPV code for health and social work services. Located in the Colwyn Bay and Old Colwyn areas of the United Kingdom (UKL13 region), the procurement was structured under a selective process following the Light Touch Regime of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. It envisaged the division into three lots, each intending to provide flexible, person-centred services with contracts spanning seven years with a potential extension of three years.
Unfortunately, the procurement, originally planned to phase over the next 12 months, was cancelled, affecting the complete process intended for completion between early 2020 and late 2021. This tender represented significant opportunities for service providers specialised in health and social work services, particularly those capable of delivering innovative and adaptable supported living solutions. Businesses with expertise in managing adaptable housing solutions for people with learning and physical disabilities would have been well-suited to compete.
The rigorous process required a single contract for each lot, meaning successful bidders could have secured substantial business growth through long-term service delivery. However, any participation would now focus on future tenders, considering current developments.

The procurement for this Lot is anticipated to be completed between January and May 2020. This Lot comprises of currently four adapted properties supporting 18 individuals with a range of support needs with potential to increase services within the immediate vicinity of this area during the contract term. As part of the procurement, one contract will be issued to one Service Provider (or a consortium) for a duration of seven years and with an option to extend for a further three year period.
