Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB) in London is in the final stages of a procurement process concerning a contract for "Primary Care Occupational Health Service - Medical and Dental", classified under the health services industry. This tender, subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, aims to provide Schedule 1 Occupational Health Services to NHS Primary Care Medical & Dental Practices as per a national specification. Although the procurement method used is limited and has been conducted without a prior call for competition, the notice for the intention to award was published on 10 June 2025.
The standstill period for this contract decision ends on 20 June 2025, after representations by providers. The total estimated value of the contract is £325,000 for its entire duration from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2028, and it was awarded to Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, OH Services. This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those proficient in delivering occupational health solutions to medical and dental practices.
Businesses that excel in healthcare service sustainability, integration, and collaboration while demonstrating a commitment to social value and reducing health inequalities would be well-suited for such contracts. By engaging in this procurement, businesses can strengthen their position in the competitive healthcare services market, fostering growth and expansion. Given the limited procurement method applied, the existing provider, which has been fulfilling expectations under the original contract, has been acknowledged to continue under the proposed arrangement.
This highlights the trust and confidence placed in businesses that can demonstrate quality, innovation, and effective service delivery.
