Summary, notice description and lot information
NHS Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board (ICB) is currently in the tender stage of a procurement process to deliver NHS Tier 2 Oral Surgery Services across Surrey, under an open procedure. The procurement process, managed by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit, is classified under the health services category and involves multiple lots to cover different geographical areas, including East Surrey, Guildford, and a county-wide sedation service. Providers interested in participating must submit their proposals by the 2nd of March, 2026, with the procurement set to span from 1st August 2026 for a planned duration of up to 56 months.
The total value of this contract is estimated at £12,034,808, with the option for a two-year extension. This tender reflects the ongoing integration of NHS services within the Surrey region, anticipating a merger with the Sussex ICB in April 2026. This procurement presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those with capabilities in Level 2 Oral Surgery and sedation.
The structured approach to evaluating tenders ensures that only the most capable providers proceed, potentially leading to increased market competitiveness and higher service standards. Businesses with expertise in managing complex dental cases or those equipped with the necessary accreditation for Level 2 services would be well-placed to bid. The phased evaluation process — dividing the tender into two evaluation stages — centres on establishing a high quality of service provision.
Furthermore, with geographical expansions planned as part of the Surrey and Sussex ICB merger, there are prospects for business growth in expanding patient eligibility and service coverage. This contract not only aims to ease pressures on secondary care centres but also ensures cost-effective healthcare delivery in primary care settings within the region.
