Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, has initiated a tender process to appoint suitable providers for conducting Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for adults. The contract is intended to address increasing demand and reduce waiting lists in the Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB) area. Located in Cardiff, this procurement is part of the health industry category, following an open procurement method, with services needed across the UK region specified as UKL14.
The procurement is at the tender stage, with a deadline for electronic submissions set for 15th October 2025 at noon. The contract will initially cover a period of three years, with an option to extend for a further two years. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in healthcare services, particularly those with capabilities in neurodevelopmental assessments.
Providers with experience in adhering to NICE guidelines and standards for ADHD and ASD are especially well-suited to compete, as the tender stresses the importance of using multidisciplinary approaches and validated diagnostic tools. The project allows room for growth, given its zero-commitment contract nature, allowing service volumes to be adjusted as funding allows. With a substantial emphasis on quality and cost-effectiveness, businesses that excel in delivering comprehensive diagnostics and assessments stand to benefit from engaging with this public health service opportunity.
Due to exponential demand on both services, HDUHB seeks to appoint a suitable provider to support an ad hoc service for both the Adult ADHD service with ADHD Diagnostic Assessments and the Integrated Autism Service with ASD Assessments for Adults to reduce the HDUHB waiting list. HDUHB intends to a suitable Provider(s) for Adults over an initial three (3) year period with an option to extend for a further two (2) years.
