Award of Dynamic Purchasing System for Domiciliary Care Services in Powys

Powys County Council has established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of domiciliary care services, which covers various regions including North and South Powys. This system targets the social protection industry category and involves delivering care, particularly for people with dementia, in town, rural, and remote rural areas. The system is set to run for an initial period of 10 years starting August 2024, with a potential extension of 5 years, subject to bi-annual reviews.

The procurement stage is currently at the award stage, with the relevant contracts having been signed as of 30th September 2020. The procurement method used is a restricted procedure, reflecting a selective process to ensure quality and compliance with standards set by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses in the domiciliary care sector, particularly those registered with the CIW and capable of providing high-quality care services.

The DPS structure allows new providers to join the system over time, promoting ongoing competition and quality improvement.
